NUEVO DIRECTOR EN LA UMF 16 DEL IMSS

El delegado regional del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) en Baja California, licenciado Francisco Iván Beltrones Burgos, designó al doctor José Ramiro Herrera López como nuevo director de la Unidad de Medicina Familiar (UMF) número 16 de Mexicali, en sustitución del Dr. José Antonio Pérez Soto, quien recibió el beneficio de la jubilación.
Sobre su nuevo encargo, Beltrones Burgos insistió en la importancia de proveer a los usuarios servicios con oportunidad y calidez, por lo que convocó al nuevo directivo a establecer un plan de trabajo que permita una supervisión constante de avances y logros en beneficio de los derechohabientes del Instituto.
El nuevo directivo cuenta con una trayectoria de 15 años en la institución y al asumir el cargo se comprometió a encabezar con su equipo de colaboradores, un estilo de trabajo cercano al derechohabiente y que los propósitos institucionales de brindar calidad en el servicio y calidez en el trato, se cumplan a cabalidad.
La unidad médica en mención cubre un amplio sector en la zona poniente de la ciudad; con 139 mil 130 derechohabientes que se atienden en 34 consultorios.
Beltrones Burgos afirmó que la institución es un aliado de la prevención y por ello reorienta sus políticas de salud en aras de evitar las enfermedades, por lo que se dará prioridad a fortalecer el vínculo del IMSS con sus derechohabientes a través de las clínicas de medicina familiar, toda vez que éstas representan un primer contacto para anticipar factores de riesgo de algunos padecimientos e iniciar tempranamente su atención.
La clínica 16 del Seguro Social funciona desde el año de 1964; actualmente otorga por día 770 consultas de medicina familiar; 124 en atención médica continua (urgencias) y 59 de estomatología; realiza 72 estudios de rayos X así como 748 exámenes de laboratorio. En materia de abasto, surte 1 mil 953 recetas médicas.
Destaca entre sus acciones, las actividades extramuros mediante un equipo multidisciplinario que organiza periódicamente ferias de salud en lugares concurridos; acude a empresas en seguimiento al programa Prevenimss en las empresas; tiene una estrecha vinculación con instituciones educativas para compartir información contemplada en la estrategia JuvenIMSS, que abarca temas específicos para población adolescente, como salud reproductiva, salud sexual, violencia intrafamiliar y adicciones entre otros.

NIÑOS CON SOBREPESO Y OBESIDAD EXPUESTOS A RIESGOS: IMSS
- Se invita a disminuir alimentos ricos en grasa, sal y azúcares.

El sobrepeso y la obesidad se definen como un problema de salud caracterizado por el exceso de grasa corporal en el cuerpo, lo que puede generar diferentes patologías secundarias, expresó el doctor Juan Manuel Álvarez Marín pediatra del Hospital General de Zona (HGZ) IV número 8 del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) en Ensenada.
Las causas dijo, se deben a un desequilibrio energético entre calorías consumidas y gastadas, es resultado de un incremento en la ingesta de alimentos hipercalóricos (ricos en grasa, sal y azúcares) pero pobres en vitaminas, minerales y otros nutrientes, además de un descenso en la actividad física.
Señaló que existe un índice muy alto de niños menores de cinco años de edad con sobrepeso y explicó que la obesidad infantil se asocia con mayor probabilidad a la muerte prematura y discapacidad en la edad adulta, pero además, riesgos futuros niños porque con la obesidad sufren dificultad respiratoria, presentan un mayor riesgo de fracturas e hipertensión y presentan síntomas tempranos de enfermedad cardiovascular, además de resistencia a la insulina y efectos psicológicos negativos en su vida cotidiana.
Los niños en esta condición presentan esta tendencia hasta la edad adulta y tienen más probabilidades de padecer a edades más tempranas enfermedades no trasmisibles como la diabetes y padecimientos cardiovasculares; por consiguiente hay que dar prioridad a la prevención en la obesidad infantil.
Destacó que es muy importante la orientación en las escuelas y hospitales para fomentar la venta de alimentos sanos con el propósito de promover hábitos saludables y ayudar a aumentar el nivel de agudeza mental y su habilidad de aprendizaje; reducir el número de inasistencias, mejorar la conducta, enseñar hábitos alimenticios y fomentar la actividad física a fin de que se convierta en un hábito que prevalezca toda la vida.
Alvarez Marín destacó por último que los pequeños cambios son poderos y necesarios en la salud infantil, por lo que recomendó servir raciones adecuadas a la edad del niño, tener en el hogar frutas y cereales, limitar el consumo de carnes rojas, de alimentos ricos en calorías y grasas, fomentar la actividad física, limitar el consumo de azúcar y refrescos, así como restringir a no más de dos horas diarias el tiempo de televisión.

ESTRÉS Y ANSIEDAD DISMINUYEN PRODUCTIVIDAD: IMSS

Destacó que ambos trastornos son más frecuentes en la mujer y que su edad de inicio por lo regular es en adultos jóvenes, con una mayor incidencia entre 25 y 34 años de edad. Tienen una predisposición familiar y su inicio puede estar relacionado con la presencia de ambientes estresantes.
Explicó que el estrés es una reacción fisiológica que aparece en las personas ante situaciones fuera de lo habitual -llamados estresores- que desencadenan cambios tanto orgánicos como psicológicos, puede variar de intensidad y duración dependiendo de factores personales, ambientales y del mismo estresor.
Lopez Orrantia señaló que 11 por ciento de la población puede desarrollar una repuesta patológica que se manifiesta con síntomas de ansiedad, depresión o conductuales. El estrés puede actuar como un factor de riesgo para el inicio de la mayoría de los trastornos psiquiátricos, así como de otros trastornos médicos, que dificultan su control e incrementan las complicaciones.
La ansiedad es una es una anticipación involuntaria de un daño presente o futuro, se acompaña de un sentimiento desagradable o de síntomas somáticos de tensión. Se trata de una señal de alerta sobre un peligro inminente y permite a la persona adoptar las medidas necesarias para enfrentarse a una amenaza.
El director de la UMF 39 subrayó que la atención de estos padecimientos requiere acciones médicas en las que se incluyen medicamentos y psicoterapia, pero también acciones sociales como la educación para la salud que permitan identificar de manera oportuna y brindar tratamiento adecuado, por lo que exhortó a la población derechohabiente a acercarse al médico familiar o en su caso a los módulos de PrevenIMSS.

INDISPENSABLE EL CUIDADO DE LA SALUD SEXUAL
EN LA MUJER EMBARAZADA

En la salud reproductiva de la mujer las enfermedades de transmisión sexual representan un riesgo considerable, ya que con frecuencia ocasionan infertilidad. Además, los daños que sufre el bebé en el período de gestación pueden evitarse si la madre acude a revisiones ginecológicas anuales a partir de la adolescencia.
El doctor Oscar Ornelas Gutiérrez, director del Hospital de Gineco Obstetricia (HGO) número 7 del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) en Tijuana, explicó que las infecciones más frecuentes son clamidia, gonorrea, herpes genital, virus de papiloma humano (VHP), sífilis y virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), que no siempre presentan síntomas, sino hasta que las complicaciones se hacen presentes.
Agregó que las enfermedades de transmisión sexual se han incrementado debido al inicio de la vida sexual a edad temprana, promiscuidad y a la falta de utilización de condón.
Explicó que la más frecuente y que con excepción del VIH, se controla con tratamiento médico, es la clamidia (bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis), que de no erradicarse, puede provocar enfermedad inflamatoria pélvica, así como la inflamación y cicatrización de las trompas de Falopio y generar infertilidad.
Cuando este padecimiento se presenta durante el embarazo, se corre el riesgo de ectópico (cuando el embrión se desarrolla fuera del útero, generalmente en una de las trompas de Falopio), provocando aborto espontáneo, parto prematuro, nacimiento sin vida o la muerte del recién nacido.
Las segunda enfermedad citada, destacó el ginecólogo del IMSS, es la gonorrea (bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae), que también ocasiona esterilidad, embarazo ectópico o de aborto, así como también infecciones neonatales al momento del parto cuando el producto pasa por la cavidad vaginal contaminada.
La tercera es el herpes genital (del virus tipo 2), éste es recurrente e incurable, porque siempre va a estar latente en el organismo para surgir de nuevo en cualquier momento cuando por alguna causa se disminuyen las defensas del sistema inmunológico, puntualizó el especialista del IMSS.
Si la mujer se infecta de herpes tipo 2 o genital en el primer trimestre de embarazo, añadió, puede provocarle un aborto espontáneo o bien que el bebé se geste con malformaciones congénitas.
La infección por virus del papiloma humano (VPH) está asociada con el desarrollo de cáncer cérvico-uterino. Entre los muchos tipos de virus del papiloma humano, hay algunos que provocan verrugas en la zona genital y esto, en el caso de una mujer embarazada, es riesgoso, ya que en el momento del parto el bebé puede contaminarse, finalizó el director del HGO en Tijuana.
