Tijuana, B.C. a 11 de agosto del 2015.- El proyecto del viñedo experimental en las instalaciones de la Planta de Tratamiento de La Morita de la Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana (CESPT) podría dar su primera cosecha este año.
El Director de CESPT, Alfonso Álvarez Juan explicó que son 800 plantas de uva cabernet sauvignon, las que han sido regadas durante 3 años en estas instalaciones con el agua residual tratada que ahí se produce con lo que se pretende demostrar las bondades de este líquido.
“Este proyecto busca determinar la factibilidad de utilizar el agua residual tratada en la producción vitivinícola en Valle de Guadalupe, un sector que ha registrado un crecimiento exponencial en los últimos años” enfatizó Álvarez Juan.
Las plantas de vid fueron monitoreadas por expertos enólogos de la región, quienes junto con personal de la paraestatal realizaron los estudios necesarios para corroborar la producción de la uva como son calidad del suelo y calidad del agua en conjunto con el Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo Tecnológico en Electroquímica (CIDETEQ). Con esta primera cosecha se esperan producir mil 100 botellas de vino tinto cabernet sauvignon.
Cabe destacar, que actualmente la planta de tratamiento de La Morita produce agua residual tratada que cumple con la normatividad vigente para reuso, debido a que implementa alta tecnología para la desinfección de este líquido mediante rayos ultravioleta.
Con este mismo líquido actualmente se riega el Vivero Invernadero Estatal, que es operado en coordinación con la Secretaría de Protección al Ambiente y donde se producen alrededor de 70 mil plantas al año, que sirven para el mejoramiento de las áreas verdes de la región
