Tijuana, B. C., 7 de agosto de 2015.- Este día, el presidente municipal, doctor Jorge Astiazarán Orcí, sostuvo una reunión con el nuevo cónsul General de Estados Unidos en Tijuana, William Ostick, a quién expuso la estrategia que se mantiene en materia de seguridad pública, destacando el trabajo coordinado entre las instituciones de ambos lados de la frontera.
En el encuentro, el alcalde Jorge Astiazarán agradeció el trato respetuoso que las autoridades consulares han tenido con el gobierno municipal, ya que han colaborado en el desarrollo de estrategias binacionales enfocadas a mejorar las condiciones de seguridad en la mega región Tijuana-San Diego.
“Hemos tenido resultados positivos derivados de la implementación de diversas tácticas para erradicar la delincuencia. En días pasados se entregaron 80 patrullas con equipamiento de geolocalización y, por parte del Consejo Coordinador Empresarial de Tijuana (CCE), se donaron mil 500 cámaras de video para inhibir ilícitos”, dijo el primer edil.
Por su parte, el nuevo cónsul General de Estados Unidos en Tijuana, William Ostick, reconoció que Tijuana tiene mucho potencial en materia de desarrollo económico, por lo que se trabajará de manera conjunta con el gobierno municipal para asegurar que el turismo y la inversión estadounidense, encuentren en esta ciudad una opción viable para desarrollarse.
A la reunión también asistieron el cónsul de la Sección Política y Económica, Jasón Vorderstrasse; y la vocera del Consulado Americano, Lorena Blanco.
