Tijuana, Baja California., a 16 de junio de 2015. La titular de la Comisión Estatal de los Derechos Humanos de Baja California (CEDHBC), Licenciada Melba Adriana Olvera Rodríguez, se reunió con miembros del Comité Ciudadano de Seguridad Pública a efecto de coordinar esfuerzos a favor de la ciudadanía.
La reunión se llevó a cabo en la oficina central de la CEDH, y estuvo presidida por la Presidenta de dicha institución, la Licenciada Melba Adriana Olvera, el Presidente del Comité, el Ingeniero Genaro de la Torre y el Consejero, Eduardo López Ruiz.
El Presidente del Comité Ciudadano, Genaro de la Torre, comentó que el Comité está conformado por 26 miembros, 12 de ellos son ciudadanos, 11 funcionarios públicos y 3 representantes de colonias.
Dijo que el Comité trabaja en tres ejes principales: combate, vigilancia y prevención, y que busca ser fuente de confianza en la ciudadanía, ser un mediador entre ciudadanos y funcionarios públicos, razón por lo cual es de suma importancia, comentó, trabajar de la mano con organismos como la Comisión Estatal de los Derechos Humanos.
Durante la reunión la Comisión Estatal de los Derechos Humanos propuso la participación permanente de un representante de la CEDH en las reuniones de dicho Comité. Además se comprometió a desarrollar un ejercicio de capacitación en materia de derechos humanos con los miembros del Comité con el objetivo de que cuenten con información que les permita dar asesoría inicial y una adecuada canalización a la ciudadanía en caso de que requiera presentar queja ante el organismo estatal.
La Comisión Estatal, invita a la ciudadanía a que se acerque a cualquiera de las oficinas con las que cuenta en el estado, o bien, se comunique al número 9-73-23-73 ext 101, en caso de presentarse alguna violación a sus derechos humanos.
